About LinacreOne

Linacre is an old-established, post-industrial community in South Sefton Borough, just north of Liverpool. It suffers from low economic activity, poor housing (with a high proportion of privately-let homes) and neighbourhood neglect. The neighbourhood has attracted funds as one of the government's Housing Market Renewal pathfinder areas: presenting enormous challenges and enormous opportunities.

LinacreOne is a non-profit making company created to bring local people and organisations together in a community partnership. Working together we aim to bring lasting change to Linacre, creating choice, new investment and committment to the community.

The initial stakeholders of LinacreOne involve:

Rodney Housing Association, an active housing association registered with the Housing Corporation who is involved in widespread investment programmes within Linacre.
Servite Houses, a national developing housing association with a track record of quality housing development with its regional office in Merton Road, Bootle.
The Cheshire Building Society, a North West based building society with over £1bn worth of mortgages in housing. Through its Social Responsibility Strategy the society supports community programmes both financially, and through their financial expertise in helping with advice to local businesses and voluntary organisations.
Fawley Construction, a Linacre house builder who has a long-standing record of quality homes and community buildings such as schools for Sefton Council. Fawley Construction wish to develop employment and training opportunities in the Linacre area.
Brian Young and Associates, architects and project managers who have experience across Merseyside including South Sefton involving residential, industrial, commerical, health care, community and leisure developments.
Bremners, legal specialists in housing, company law and charity status. A partner from this Liverpool based solicitor's firm will be the secretary for LinacreOne.
RDHS Consultants, Sefton based social housing and regeneration consultants who have acted at a national and regional level in supporting local authorities, housing associations and community bodies in a wide spectrum of neighbourhood initiatives.

In achieving this principle of local representation and accountability LinacreOne's future success is seen as dependant on having the active support and direct involvement of its decision making through people who live or work in Linacre.
